Artist's Description
For this shot, I was located in the right place exactly at the right time in order to have this figure from the Raices fountain appear to be catching the full moon in its hand. The Raices Fountain, completed in May 1992, was designed by architect Miguel Carlo in commemoration of the New World's 500th anniversary. This arrangement of bronze statues by spanish sculptor Luis Sanguino honors Puerto Rico's mixed Taino, Spanish and African heritage, and represents a ship being steered out into the sea with playful dolphins leading the way to a bright 21st century.
